The Restaurant
This charming listed building with its sense of history is a haven for good food & drink, exceptional service and a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. On a fine sunny day, you can enjoy an aperitif or two seated in the tranquillity of the surrounds.
Situated on two levels, ground floor and basement, there is ample space for private party hire.

Our Menus
Our contemporary cuisine is accompanied with classic and complementary sauces, fresh green salads or seasonal vegetables.
Easy, light dishes with an emphasis on locally sourced produce. We occasionally modify our A La Carte menu throughout the year for a sense of variety.
Private Dining at the Glean
Our restaurant is an ideal venue in the city for a private party. The main floor of the restaurant accommodates up to 45 people seated and 75 standing for canapés and drinks. In the Green Room of the basement there is capacity for 20 seated, 25 standing.
The Green Room in the basement offers a more intimate setting and can be hired by itself. The entire restaurant can be booked for private use with dining on ground level and a dance floor in the basement for example.

The Glean Restaurant is pretty close to the Air BnB we stayed in so we gave it a shot and it was really good. The staff was very friendly and the food is delicious. I strongly recommend the Glean Burger with cheese but the brownie is even better. My wife had a steak that looked a little bit lost on the plate but also was very delicious! If you are looking for a nice little restaurant with a great atmosphere then this is the place to go – trust me.

The owner had me sampling all the wine to see what I liked and made some wonderful suggestions. We stumbled on this amazing gem looking for someplace else and we are so glad we did.

Absolutely stunning, we came here for a meal and we were pleasantly surprised! Under the busy bar up is a quaint restaurant with impeccable service. The waiter was very attentive and lovely! We ordered a starter which was gorgeous and we had the surf and surf steak for main, which was cooked to absolute perfection (medium rare) the sauce that came with it was delicious! Most definitely a place to come back to!

We went for a team lunch, 20+ ppl, the food was lovely and the service was good, we were downstairs away from the main bar in a private area and they had staff regularly checking to see if we needed more drinks etc. I’d go as far as to call this a hidden gem in blackfriars.
